主讲人简介：

Dr. Herman is professor of oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Being patent holder of the widely used Methylation Specific PCR (MSP), he is regarded as an important milestone in epigenetic research, and ranked the 2nd most highly cited researcher in epigenetics. For more than two decades, Dr. Herman has worked extensively in the development of epigenetic markers in lung cancer, colon cancer, glioma and hematological malignancies, and has more than 300 publications, including many influential papers published in Science, Nature genetics and NEJM. The major focus of his research now is developing diagnostic and prognostic epigenetic markers in lung cancer and demethylation treatment.

Dr. He is clinical fellow of oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He gained his MD degree from the Peking Union Medical College in 1996 and joined Dr. Herman’s lab as clinical fellow in 2012. His major focus now is to study the interaction between epigenetic priming and anti-tumor activity of immune intervention.
